Covid19 Update
On 1st October 2020 Uganda reopened its borders, including Entebbe International Airport. In addition to the usual travel requirements (visa. yellow fever documents etc.), visitors and returning residents and citizens now require a negative Covid 19 test performed within 72 hours of departure. This is a requirement on both arrival and departure and applies to all borders; land, lake and air.
The cost of a test in Uganda currently stands at around US$100 and results are normally available within 24 hours (although watch out for delays on Sundays and public holidays).
Once in country, businesses and services are generally operating as normal, though masks are required to be worn. Bars remain closed, but restaurants and hotels/lodges are open. Many, if not all, have outdoor seating thanks to our warm climate here and although there is a 9pm curfew, this does not apply once back at your accommodation.
All of Uganda’s national parks are now open, including primate activities, with strict SOPs in place. Social distancing is mandatory in all vehicles, so sometimes larger groups of visitors may require more than one vehicle to accommodate them.
